Jeremy Madix, the brother of former Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix, is facing serious charges after being arrested on July 10 at his home in Oceanside, California. According to court documents, Madix was extradited to Orange County, Florida, where he was charged with one count of trafficking in cannabis over 25 pounds.

The charges stem from an incident on February 16, when Madix and a friend, Jonah Ahad, were traveling from Orlando International Airport to Frankfurt, Germany. Customs and Border Protection agents inspected their luggage and found 64 vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana in Madix’s suitcases, weighing approximately 76 pounds.

Madix was initially held without bail, but a judge later set his bail at $80,000, and he was released. As a condition of his release, Madix was required to surrender his passport to the clerk’s office within five days.

If convicted, Madix faces a minimum sentence of three years in prison and a fine of $25,000. His mother, Tanya Madix, has written a letter to the judge in support of her son, describing him as a “wonderful loving son” and a “kind person.”

Interestingly, Madix’s sister Ariana has not publicly commented on his arrest. The two siblings have been estranged for some time, reportedly due to Ariana’s dislike of Jeremy’s fiancée. In a previous interview with Us Weekly, Jeremy explained that Ariana’s “microaggressive gestures” towards his fiancée had led to a rift between them.

Despite their estrangement, Jeremy has expressed his willingness to support his sister, particularly during her highly publicized split from Tom Sandoval. However, it seems that the siblings’ relationship remains complicated, and it’s unclear whether they will reconcile in the future.
