Harris’s Hypocrisy: ‘Earning’ the Nomination vs. Reality

Vice President Kamala Harris confidently asserted during a Univision town hall on Thursday night that she had “earned” the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination. However, a voter in the audience expressed skepticism, questioning whether Biden had been “pushed aside” by the party and corporate media to make way for Harris.

Harris responded by claiming she had earned the nomination and touted her endorsements from high-profile Democrats, including the Clintons, Nancy Pelosi, and former President Barack Obama. However, this assertion is disputed by many, who argue that Harris did not truly earn the nomination through her own efforts, but rather was handed it after the party and media conspired to oust President Joe Biden from the race.

In fact, Harris has a history of struggling to connect with voters. Her failed presidential campaign in 2019 resulted in her dropping out of the primary without receiving a single vote. Even before that, she was unpopular with Americans, with many questioning her qualifications and policies.

Harris’s recent admission on “60 Minutes” that “no one should be able to take for granted that they can just declare themselves a candidate and automatically receive support” has been seen as hypocritical, given her own circumstances. The fact that she was handed the nomination without a competitive primary campaign has raised concerns about the integrity of the process and the influence of party leaders and corporate media in determining the candidate.

Critics argue that Harris has done little to earn the trust of voters, instead using her platform to lie and manipulate public opinion. Her approval ratings have been consistently low, and she has been criticized for her handling of crises, including her response to natural disasters. Her pledge to throw her opponents in prison and her support for dismantling the filibuster have also been widely seen as attempts to undermine democratic institutions.

The voter who questioned Harris’s nomination was not alone in their skepticism. Many Americans are concerned that the party and media have colluded to impose a candidate on them without their consent, and that Harris has not earned the right to be the Democratic nominee.
