Around 100 people were arrested at an anti-Israel encampment at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts over the weekend. The demonstrators were instructed to leave the area by police who gathered inside Shillman Hall before deploying around the Centennial Common. Video footage showed students at the encampment calling for divestment from Israeli corporations by the university.
Many of the protesters were willing to face discipline from the school. Approximately 102 people were arrested and face charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct, with some being transported to the Suffolk County House of Correction for booking. Aerial video footage showed officers surrounding the encampment. Similar demonstrations were also reported at George Washington University in Washington, DC and the University of California Los Angeles.
