At a Philadelphia stop on his campaign tour, former President Donald Trump unexpectedly stopped to meet a young supporter at Tony and Nick’s Steaks. The young boy, who was dressed in a blue suit and blonde wig, bearing a striking resemblance to the former president, was brought to tears after Trump took the time to meet him and present him with a signed $20 bill.
As the encounter unfolded, Trump addressed the young fan, saying “You know who that is? That’s Andrew Jackson.” He then signed the bill and said “We’re going to add some value” as the boy’s eyes welled up with adoration. The pair subsequently posed for a heartwarming photo, during which Trump joked, “I like that kid… So if your parents don’t want you, I’ll take you!”
The incident quickly went viral after being shared on social media by Trump’s deputy communications director, Margo Martin. Additionally, another video taken at the restaurant shows Trump leaving a $500 tip for the workers, commenting, “No tax on tips!” In a Las Vegas rally just days prior, Trump promised that if reelected, he would eliminate taxes on tips for people in service industry-related jobs.
Tony and Nick’s Steaks owner Nicky Lucidonio described the encounter as an “unbelievable” moment, saying Trump answered questions, signed hats, and more during his visit.
