Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, the spouse of Vice President Kamala Harris, has tested positive for the coronavirus. According to Liza Acevedo, his communications director, Emhoff experienced mild symptoms and underwent testing yesterday. Despite being fully vaccinated and triple-boosted, Emhoff has reported that he is asymptomatic and has been working remotely and isolating himself from others.
The vice president, who has also undergone testing, has received negative results. Out of an abundance of caution, she was tested yesterday, with the results coming back clear.
Emhoff’s diagnosis comes amidst a busy period for the vice president, with an upcoming campaign event scheduled for Tuesday in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is still on, according to sources.
Interestingly, the Emhoffs recently celebrated the Fourth of July at the White House, alongside President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. This development marks the second time Emhoff has tested positive for COVID-19, having contracted the virus previously in March 2022. The vice president also contracted the virus in April 2022.
