A notorious fugitive who was featured on Texas’ “Most Wanted” list has been apprehended by authorities in the state. Fabian Martinez Toribio, a 25-year-old undocumented immigrant, was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in aggravated sexual assault of a child and possession of a controlled substance.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott took to social media to express his satisfaction with the arrest, stating that it was a prime example of the state’s efforts to keep its communities safe. “One more criminal that the Biden-Harris Administration allowed into our country is now behind bars and off our streets,” Abbott said.

The arrest is a result of the Texas Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) efforts to track down and apprehend undocumented immigrants who have committed serious crimes in the state. In June, Governor Abbott launched the “10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List” in partnership with the DPS, aimed at identifying and bringing to justice those who pose a threat to public safety.

The list was created in response to the surge in illegal immigration and crime that has occurred since President Joe Biden took office. According to Governor Abbott, the dismantling of effective border policies has led to a significant increase in the number of dangerous criminals and terrorists entering the country.

DPS Director Steve McCraw emphasized the importance of the public’s help in apprehending these offenders, stating that individuals on the list are likely to commit additional crimes if not caught. “Criminals from around the world who enter the United States illegally and commit crimes in Texas are a threat to public safety,” McCraw said.
