Rosie O’Donnell has made a bold declaration of her support for Vice President Kamala Harris, revealing that she has purchased 100 “Kamala T-shirts” and vows to wear them until Harris is elected president.
During a virtual call with the group “Comics for Kamala,” O’Donnell described the day President Joe Biden endorsed Harris as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee as a “glorious act of generosity.” She claimed that she was so inspired by the moment that she immediately went out and bought the T-shirts, which she plans to wear until Harris takes office.
O’Donnell expressed her admiration for Harris, saying that she believes in the vice president’s commitment to fighting for equality for all people. She also took a swipe at former President Donald Trump, referring to him as the “orange clown man” and stating that he is not the kind of leader the country needs.
In a surprising revelation, O’Donnell shared a story about meeting Trump at his second wedding, where she was the date of Marla Maples’ former Broadway partner. She described the experience as “the funniest thing I’d ever seen in my life,” and claimed that Trump shook hands with every celebrity in attendance.
O’Donnell also mentioned that she and Trump have had a long-standing feud, which began in 2007 and has continued for 17 years. She added that she remains committed to supporting Harris and is eager to see her become the next president.
The virtual call with Comics for Kamala also featured other notable comedians and actors, including Kathy Griffin, Ben Stiller, and Jason Bateman.
The group announced that it has raised nearly $550,000 in support of Harris’ presidential campaign.
