Tesla has outlined its plans for the remainder of 2024 and early 2025, including the potential rollout of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology in Europe and China. The company is awaiting regulatory approval in both regions, which CEO Elon Musk expects to receive by the end of the year. In China, authorities have reportedly given tentative approval for the launch of FSD, although the status of European Union regulators’ review is unclear.
Musk has expressed hopes that FSD will be approved in Right-Hand Drive markets, including the UK, Hong Kong, and Macau, by the end of the first quarter or early second quarter of 2025. This would mark a significant expansion of the technology’s availability, following its initial launch in the US.
In addition to its international plans, Tesla has announced that FSD will be available for its Cybertruck model this month, along with the Autopark capability. The company will also introduce unpark, park, and reverse functions to FSD in October. However, the FSD software comes at a cost, with US buyers able to purchase it outright for $8,000 or subscribe to a supervised version for $99 per month.
