Brendan Paul, the alleged drug mule of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, avoided going to jail by agreeing to a plea deal after facing serious drug charges. He was accused of possessing cocaine and marijuana in April, following his arrest in March. This incident occurred amidst sex trafficking allegations against Diddy, leading to federal raids on his properties by The Department of Homeland Security. Paul, 25, has now enrolled in a court-mandated drug diversion program, as reported by TMZ.
His lawyer, Brian Bieber, confirmed that Paul accepted the prosecutor’s offer to join the diversion program, which, upon completion, will result in the dismissal of all charges against him. This arrangement was described as a “standard offer to a non-violent defendant with no prior offenses” by a representative from the Miami-Dade State Attorney, according to TMZ.
Paul will need to remain in the drug diversion program for six months, during which time the charges against him will remain pending. If he successfully completes the program, the charges will be dropped, allowing him to avoid jail time and probation, as per TMZ reports. Prior to this incident, Paul worked as Diddy’s main assistant and was arrested after alleged discovery of cocaine and marijuana candy during a search at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport.
As for Diddy, there have been no recent updates on the sex trafficking accusations or the seizure of his personal belongings during the raids on his residences.
