The Republican National Committee (RNC) and members of the Arizona legislature have petitioned for a stay on a court decision invalidating the state’s proof-of-citizenship voting requirements. If the motion is successful, Arizona will be allowed to enforce the law, demanding documentary proof of citizenship for voters casting ballots in November’s presidential election and beyond.

The RNC has launched a vigorous campaign against non-citizen voting, stressing that it compromises election integrity and should be prevented at all costs. “Our elections and the future of our country should be decided by Americans,” emphasized RNC Chairman Michael Whatley.
Arizona GOP Chair Gina Swoboda also weighed in on the issue, stating, “Our election outcomes must reflect the voices of American voters.” She believes the petition is a key step in securing the integrity of elections in the state, where the RNC and Arizona GOP are determined to ensure voters’ wills are upheld.
