Former President Donald Trump, known for his “LAW AND ORDER” platform, has been facing legal challenges himself while also defending some Democrats against prosecution by the Justice Department.

Trump has repeatedly criticized the Justice Department, accusing it of being weaponized by President Biden and interfering in the upcoming presidential rematch between him and Biden in November. Despite his criticism of the DOJ, Trump has also spoken out against its prosecution of certain Democrats.

One such Democrat is former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, who was indicted in 2009 on corruption charges related to his alleged attempt to sell Barack Obama’s Senate seat. Blagojevich was convicted on most charges and sentenced to 14 years in prison, a sentence that Trump later commuted in 2020.

Another Democrat, Senator Bob Menendez from New Jersey, was indicted by the DOJ for corruption in 2023. While Trump has not been supportive of Menendez, he has pointed to the indictment as evidence of a “two-tier system of justice” and claimed that Biden has committed worse offenses.

Most recently, Representative Henry Cuellar from Texas was indicted for allegedly accepting bribes from foreign entities. Trump criticized the indictment, suggesting that Biden was behind it due to Cuellar’s stance on border policies.

Trump himself is facing four indictments, including federal charges related to mishandling classified documents and attempting to overturn the 2020 election. His trials in Fulton County, Georgia, and Manhattan are ongoing, with porn actress Stormy Daniels set to testify in the hush money trial.
