Ramaswamy drew parallels between Biden’s comments and Hillary Clinton’s infamous “basket of deplorables” remark in 2016, which he believed tanked her campaign. However, he also speculated that Biden’s family may be actively working against Kamala Harris, who is expected to be Biden’s successor, due to feelings of vengeance towards the Democratic Party.
Regardless of the motivations behind Biden’s comments, Ramaswamy saw the incident as a welcome development for the GOP. He argued that the Democratic Party is “spiraling” and “flailing” in their efforts to discredit Trump, and that their accusations of threats to democracy are falling flat with American voters.
