Santiagois’s support for Trump is also notable, as she has already endorsed Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dave McCormick, who is locked in a tight race with incumbent Democrat Bob Casey.
The endorsement comes on the heels of a controversy surrounding an insult comic who performed at a Trump campaign rally at Madison Square Garden. The comic’s joke about Puerto Rico and trash sparked outrage, but it appears to have had little impact on Trump’s campaign, which is pressing forward with its efforts to win over voters in Pennsylvania and beyond.
