Boxer Mike Tyson has rescheduled his fight with Jake Paul after announcing he needed to postpone their bout to receive medical treatment.

Netflix will stream the live event on Nov. 15. Initially set for July 20, the fight was delayed due to Tyson’s ulcer diagnosis, requiring more recovery time. Tyson will celebrate a birthday before the fight, turning 58, while Paul is 27.

“New date, same place, same fate,” Paul posted on X.

This new date coincides with the post-2024 presidential election period and the ongoing NFL season.

“Our team has worked diligently with all parties involved to reschedule this monumental fight to a date that ensures both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are fully prepared, with equal training time, as well as allowing us to keep the event at AT&T Stadium in the midst of the Cowboys season,” Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said in a statement.

Paul admitted he would have to change his “heavyweight eating” diet to compete in the same category as Tyson. All heavyweight boxers must weigh over 200 pounds to compete, with no maximum weight limit.

“Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly,” Tyson said in a statement. “I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties. While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out.”

The rest of the event will feature a match between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano. Additionally, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was set to fight Darren Till, and Floyd Schofield was to face Ashton Sylve on the original date. These four have yet to confirm their participation on the new date.
