The Los Angeles Police Department has been working with the Drug Enforcement Administration since May to determine who supplied actor Matthew Perry with the ketamine that led to his death last October. According to sources, police believe that multiple individuals should be held accountable for the actor’s tragic demise.

While a decision on charges has yet to be made, a law enforcement official told NBC News that the investigation is ongoing and will continue until all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined.

The 54-year-old Friends star died on October 28, found unresponsive in his pool. An autopsy report revealed that his cause of death was acute ketamine intoxication, with contributing factors including the effects of buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid addiction, drowning, and coronary artery disease.

Perry had struggled with addiction throughout his life, but had been sober for 19 months prior to his death. He had been receiving ketamine infusion therapy to manage depression and anxiety, with his most recent treatment occurring just over a week before his passing. However, the levels of ketamine found in his system at the time of death were unusually high, suggesting that the source of the drug may not have been his medical treatment.
