Kroger and Walt Disney are in talks to collaborate on a retail streaming deal that would bring Disney+ to Kroger’s grocery delivery program, according to sources. The streaming service, called Kroger Boost, may be offered as a free perk to Kroger Boost members as early as this year.

This partnership is part of a trend among companies looking to increase revenue and customer loyalty. Walmart started offering a Paramount+ Essential subscription to its Walmart+ members in 2022, while Instacart began providing Comcast’s Peacock streaming service to its paid subscribers in 2023.

Disney’s streaming services have been losing significant amounts of money, with CEO Bob Iger working to control spending. The discussions with Kroger are seen as a move to strengthen Disney’s struggling platform.

Despite claims of success, recent reports suggest that Disney’s financial performance is not as rosy as portrayed to stockholders. This collaboration with Kroger could potentially help Disney’s bottom line.
