The Kansas City Chiefs’ recently drafted wide receiver, Xavier Worthy, had his vehicle stolen from his downtown Kansas City apartment complex. The Kansas City police reported that the car was left parked and secured in the complex’s garage before it went missing. Worthy noticed the theft just before 7 a.m. on May 13 and reported it to the police later that evening.

According to reports, the thieves who took Worthy’s car were described as a professional group who knew exactly what they were doing. Worthy, a Fresno, California native and former University of Texas wide receiver, was selected as the Chiefs’ first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.

Worthy made headlines during the Combine by running a record-breaking 4.21 40-yard dash, surpassing the previous record set by John Ross in 2017. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to showcase his skills in front of fans and peers.

Despite the setback of his stolen car, Worthy is expected to play a key role for the Chiefs in the upcoming season. The team faced a similar issue with wide receiver Rashee Rice, who is facing criminal charges, including a hit-and-run incident in Dallas.
