President Joe Biden emphasized during a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the G7 summit in Italy that he will not commute his son Hunter’s sentence following his conviction on three felony gun charges. Biden remained committed to upholding the jury’s verdict and also ruled out the possibility of pardon for his son.

“I am extremely proud of my son Hunter. He has overcome his struggles. He’s one of the most honorable men I know,” Biden explained during the press conference, indicating that he respects the jury’s determination and intends to abide by it. Subsequently, when a reporter quizzed him about potentially limiting Hunter’s sentence, Biden turned sharply, shouting, “No.”

Joe Biden’s statement on his son’s incarceration came after Hunter’s guilty verdict, during which the president revealed, in a written statement, he intends to accept the outcome of the case as part of his son’s drug conviction.
