A security guard was shot outside Drake’s Toronto mansion, according to police. The incident occurred following a series of conflicts between the Canadian star and rapper Kendrick Lamar. Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee mentioned that there is no evidence to suggest that the shooting was related to their exchange of diss tracks.
Lee emphasized that hip hop culture often involves trading lyrics that may contain jabs, but he does not view this incident as a continuation of their music feud. Toronto Police Operations responded to the shooting at Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East, and the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. Police have video evidence of the shooting but have not released a description of the suspect or getaway vehicle.
Inspector Paul Krawczyk stated that they are unable to determine a motive at this time and could not confirm if Drake was at home during the shooting. Police are currently investigating the incident by speaking to witnesses and gathering additional footage. The shooting took place in The Bridle Path, an affluent neighborhood in Toronto known for its expensive mansions. The situation is still unfolding, and updates will be provided as they become available.
