James Carville: Vance’s ‘Cat Lady’ Comments Will Haunt Him

Democratic strategist James Carville appeared on MSNBC’s “The Beat” on Tuesday, where he weighed in on the prospects of Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), former President Donald Trump’s potential running mate. Carville predicted that Vance’s past comments, including his infamous “cat lady” remark, would continue to haunt him.

Carville characterized Vance’s views as “over the top,” citing his support for menstrual surveillance as a prime example. “How much weirder can you get than that?” Carville asked. He argued that Vance and his allies are fixated on women’s reproductive decisions, which would be a major liability for the senator.

Carville also took aim at Vance’s suggestion that voting should be tied to the number of children a person has. “Elon Musk has 12 kids, for crying out loud,” Carville exclaimed. “The whole thing is just so unbelievably strange. Is this really what middle America is supposed to be about? I don’t think so.”

Carville speculated that Trump is likely furious about Vance’s comments, given the former president’s “primitive survival instincts.” He joked that the atmosphere at Mar-a-Lago is tense, with Trump’s allies, including Don Jr. and Tucker Carlson, potentially in the crosshairs. “If you stick your head up, you’ll get hit with a bottle of ketchup,” Carville quipped.
