NASCAR had to call off the heat races for its All-Star Race on Saturday due to severe rain in North Carolina.

Rain and lightning at the North Wilkesboro Speedway disrupted the Wright Brand 250 truck race during the 81st of 250 laps. All racers were forced to stop and evacuate the 0.625-mile track as the showers turned into a deluge, leading to the cancellation of both 60-lap qualifying heats for the All-Star Race.

However, the All-Star Race is still scheduled for 8 p.m. Sunday, with the All-Star Open event starting at 5:30 p.m. The lineup will be determined based on points earned so far, placing Joey Logano of Team Penske in the pole position, followed by Brad Keselowski. Christopher Bell is in third, with Daniel Suárez and Chris Buescher rounding out the top five.

Due to the bad weather, the Craftsman Truck Series qualifying heats were also canceled, and the lineup will be based on series points. Christian Eckes, leading in points before the canceled race, secured the first place.

A flash flood warning was in effect in the area until 8 p.m. Saturday.
