Governor Landry Signs Law Against Banks Discriminating Against Gun Industry

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R) signed a bill on Tuesday known as the Firearm Industry Nondiscrimination (FIND) Act, which terminates state business relationships with financial firms that discriminate against firearm manufacturers and others in the gun industry.

Darren LaSorte from NSSF highlighted that Governor Landry’s advocacy for protecting gun makers and the firearms industry continues from his tenure as Attorney General, where he staunchly defended the Second Amendment. LaSorte praised Landry’s leadership, noting that the FIND Act was inspired by his efforts on the State Bond Commission to block taxpayer-funded contracts from “woke” Wall Street banks that were denying essential financial services to the industry.

Landry, who campaigned on defending Second Amendment rights, previously saw constitutional carry legislation vetoed under Governor Bel Edwards. However, since taking office, he fulfilled his promise and signed constitutional carry into law on March 5, 2024.
