A massive fentanyl seizure was recently carried out by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, with authorities confiscating enough of the deadly opioid to potentially kill three million people.

The investigation began in February, when officials received intelligence about a fentanyl trafficking organization operating across multiple counties. A joint effort between local and federal agencies was launched, with several searches conducted in Homosassa and Pasco County.

At a residence in Homosassa, deputies discovered a staggering 13 pounds of fentanyl, as well as nearly 150 grams of methamphetamine, 22 firearms, and over $10,000 in cash. Three of the firearms were reported stolen.

In a statement on social media, the sheriff’s office announced that the seizure was the largest in the agency’s history, and that the investigation was ongoing.

In a separate incident, a traffic stop in Roswell, Georgia, resulted in the confiscation of enough fentanyl to potentially kill 60,000 people.

The devastating impact of fentanyl was highlighted by Anne Funder, who spoke at the Republican National Convention in July about the tragic loss of her 15-year-old son to fentanyl poisoning. Funder placed blame for her son’s death squarely on the shoulders of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, citing their policies on border control.

Funder, who was living in southern California when her son died, stated that she held Biden, Harris, and other Democratic leaders responsible for the tragedy, saying, “I hold Joe Biden, Kamala Harris – the ‘Border Czar,’ what a joke – and Gavin Newsom and every Democrat who supports open borders responsible for the death of my son.”
