David Knezevich, who faces kidnapping charges in connection with the disappearance of his wife, entered a plea of not guilty during a court hearing in Miami, Florida, on Monday.

At the time of her disappearance, Ana Knezevich Henao was residing in Madrid, Spain. She and David Knezevich were in the midst of a contentious divorce after 13 years of marriage, during which they operated a computer support service for businesses in South Florida.

The last known sighting of Ana Knezevich Henao was on February 2 when she entered her apartment. Days later, she was reported missing after failing to meet a friend for a trip to Barcelona.

Spanish authorities recently released video footage showing David Knezevich purchasing duct tape and spray paint at a hardware store in Madrid. Earlier, he was observed spray painting a surveillance camera at his estranged wife’s apartment.

David Knezevich was apprehended when he returned to Miami from Serbia, his country of origin, last month. He is currently being detained without bail.

The investigation into the case involves the FBI and Spanish national police, with the participation of law enforcement agencies in Serbia and Colombia, the home countries of David Knezevich and Ana Knezevich Henao, respectively.
