Sources close to Chelsea Clinton have revealed that she is eyeing a potential ambassadorship to the UK if Kamala Harris wins the presidency in November. According to insiders, Clinton has been keen on the role for some time, with her parents, Bill and Hillary, reportedly supporting Harris’s presidential bid in the hopes of securing their daughter’s diplomatic ambitions.

“Chelsea really wants to be the ambassador to the UK,” a Clinton source told the New York Post. “It’s an aspiration she’s had for a long time, and her parents have been working behind the scenes to make it happen.” The source added that Clinton would also be interested in a posting to France, but the UK remains her top choice.

However, a British embassy official noted that the UK ambassadorship is typically reserved for more experienced individuals, often major donors or fundraisers. “While Chelsea may be a strong candidate, she’s still a bit junior for the role,” the official said.

Despite the challenges, Clinton is said to be open to ambassadorships in other countries. “She’s been hoping for an ambassadorship for a long time,” a source close to Clinton revealed.

Clinton’s interest in the UK ambassadorship is not surprising, given her past experience living in the country while studying at the University of Oxford. However, history suggests that such high-profile positions typically go to those with more experience, such as Jane Hartley, the current US ambassador to the UK, who has a long history of diplomatic service and fundraising for the Democratic party.
