In the wake of a fatal shooting at a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania, the Biden campaign has temporarily halted all outbound communications and is working to pull down its television ads as quickly as possible. According to campaign spokesman Kevin Munoz, the decision was made out of respect for the victims and to allow the investigation to unfold.

Earlier, the White House released a statement from President Biden, in which he expressed relief that Trump had survived the incident. The president also extended his well-wishes to the former president and his family, as well as all those affected by the shooting.

“I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well,” Biden wrote. “I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information.”

Biden and First Lady Jill Biden praised the Secret Service for quickly responding to the situation and ensuring Trump’s safety. The president also reiterated his condemnation of the violence, stating that there is no place for it in America.

During a press briefing from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Biden reiterated his denunciation of the violence, describing it as “sick” and calling for the country to unite against such acts. When asked if he believed the shooting was an assassination attempt, Biden declined to speculate, stating that he had an opinion but lacked concrete facts.
