In a recent social media post, singer and actress Barbra Streisand has sparked controversy with her comments on the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. Streisand attributed the would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, to having been bullied in school, and suggested that Trump’s perceived bullying behavior may have motivated the attack.

According to Streisand, Crooks was a registered Republican who was frequently bullied in school. She claimed that Trump’s reputation as a “bully” may have driven Crooks to attempt to kill the former President. This theory was put forth in a post on X, where Streisand shared her thoughts on the incident.

The attempted assassination took place on Saturday at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Trump narrowly escaped death. Trump spoke about the incident during his speech at the Republican National Convention, thanking God for his survival.

While many have been critical of Streisand’s comments, she has maintained a relatively low profile in the media since Trump’s infamous debate performance last month. Unlike some of her fellow Hollywood donors, Streisand has not called for Joe Biden to step down from his re-election campaign.
