Law enforcement officials in Arizona are on the hunt for a 66-year-old man accused of making threats against former President Donald Trump on social media. Ronald Lee Syrvud, who is considered an “investigative lead” in the case, is wanted for allegedly threatening to kill the Republican presidential candidate.

According to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, Syrvud has a history of run-ins with the law, including outstanding warrants for driving under the influence, failing to appear in court, and failing to register as a sex offender. He is also wanted for a hit-and-run incident in Arizona.

The threats against Trump were made just days before the former president’s scheduled visit to the U.S.-Mexico border in Cochise County. Authorities attempted to apprehend Syrvud at his home on Wednesday evening, but he was not found.

Syrvud is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds, and wearing glasses. The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact their local law enforcement agency or 911.

The incident comes on the heels of a recent assassination attempt against Trump in Pennsylvania, which occurred just six weeks ago. Local authorities are working closely with state and federal law enforcement partners to apprehend Syrvud and investigate the threats.
