Apple has released Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and Final Cut Camera, as well as updates for Final Cut Pro for Mac. The new iPad version takes advantage of the M4 chip in the iPad Pro, offering up to 2x faster rendering and support for up to 4x more streams of ProRes RAW compared to the M1.

The iPad version features a new “Live Multicam” capability, which allows users to wirelessly connect and preview up to four cameras at once. The Final Cut Camera app, a new companion app, enables manual control of camera settings, including manual focus, shutter speed, ISO, focus peaking, grid overlays, and more. Final Cut Pro automatically transfers and syncs each Live Multicam angle, allowing seamless movement from production to editing.

The iPad version also includes support for external projects, allowing users to create new projects or open existing ones without taking up internal storage space.

Meanwhile, the Mac version has received new AI features, including “Enhance Light and Color,” which automatically adjusts video for color correction, and “Smooth Slo-Mo,” which blends video frames for enhanced movement.

Existing users can access the new updates for free, while new users can purchase Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 for $4.99 per month or $49 per year. Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 is available on the Mac App Store for $299.99.
