Actor Alec Baldwin allegedly engaged in reckless behavior with his gun and demonstrated erratic and aggressive behavior on the Rust film set before the 2021 shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. According to a new court filing, he pointed and fired a blank round at a crew member while using the person as a human target.

The court filing is now being examined by prosecutors as part of their investigation into the incident, and they plan to show other examples of Baldwin violating safety rules on set. This includes allegations that he rushed the film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, to reload and other crew members to work at a faster pace, creating potential safety concerns.

Additionally, the court document claims that Baldwin was inattentive during firearms training due to distracted by texting, face timing family members, and making videos. The actor has pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter and could face up to 1 1/2 years in prison if convicted. Baldwin’s trial is scheduled to start on July 9 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, just a few weeks away.
