Former President Donald Trump expressed that he is “OK” with the potential of facing jail time or house arrest after being convicted on 34 felony counts related to business fraud last week.

“I’m OK with it,” Trump said to Fox News Sunday in an interview. “I don’t know that the public would stand it. I’m not sure that the public would stand for it.”

On Thursday, Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts following a three-week trial regarding hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 presidential election.

After the jury’s verdict last week, Trump criticized Judge Juan Merchan, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, former fixer Michael Cohen, President Joe Biden, and the state of the country during a press conference in New York City.

Trump has pledged to appeal the decision to the New York Appeals Court.

Despite being a convicted felon, Trump can still hold public office as the conviction occurred in the New York court system.

However, a federal court conviction would bar him from running for any office.
