  1. Good decision. Unless you want to be a nurse or an engineer, college is a money laundering scam banks and politicians promote. Don’t hate the students for admitting they made a big mistake taking on these predatory loans, blame your politicians and bankers. Banks want bailed out now because most students can’t pay it back because there are not as many high paying jobs like decades ago. The banks will get “forgiven”, while students get blamed.

  2. I commend these amazing individuals for choosing a trade career over college. Traditional higher education has been compromised, and people should explore other options. Forgo college and Hollywood. Time to shake things up.

  3. My son graduated as an honors student at a private high school….he did one year of college studying chemical engineering and said "waste of time "…. dropped out and is enrolled at a program at the community college to get his electrician certification….it's the wrong message to keep pushing college on these young people ….a strong work ethic….beats a college degree.

  4. I came from a big family. We have in three generations… a plumber, electrician, roofers, skilled construction workers, furniture makers, furnace installers and repairers and concrete makers. We hire our family members and that includes building or repairing our homes. By doing this…we know we will get quality work and help all of us earn good incomes.

  5. These trade schools are the ones that get the jobs done. Not some useless $120k liberal arts or gender studies degree. I'm glad I never went to college, went straight to work right outta high school I've worked in warehouses as a machine operator and now I work as a land surveyor for an engineering company. I plan on opening my own shop within the next couple years.

  6. College is a waste of time and money
Unless you are going to be a doctor, lawyer or some type of engineer.

Trade school accomplishes the same thing without all the overhead costs.
I went to trade school and became a master automobile technician I retired in '02 making $36 an hour flat rate which adjusted for inflation is about $60 an hour now.

Went into business for myself, make 6 figures and I am the boss.
Best thing you can do is trade school
Training costs less and you start making money right away

I didn't have 100k in student loan debt
And a worthless piece of paper on the wall
College is a scam and many kids get taken for a ride.

If you aren't going to be a doctor, lawyer or engineer you got no business wasting taxpayer dollars and your own going to college

  7. As our population grows, our infrastructure needs to grow. There will always be a place for skilled trades. I have a union job in Florida, a state known for low wages for trades, and we have apprentices in the six figure range. Can realistically expect 60-70k as a first year.

  8. Wonder how long it'll take for these schools to start the same sexual perversion classes and anti American brainwashing being shoved down the throats of elementary, high school, and university students today?

  9. My friends, Fox News is just blowing a big smoke screen in your face so you don’t pay attention to the wealthy making record profits by doubling their prices and gouging us! They use the news to drive wedge issues between us like abortion, like the border issue, like political issues to keep us all arguing! If we all started getting along, they would be horrified! They would be afraid that would start voting together to make new laws to force the wealthy to pay their fair share in taxes, into to make our lives better! Believe me when I tell you that Fox News is owned by corporations that want to see you stay in debt! The wealthy billionaires have turned their back on America and they paid off the Supreme Court so they can get away with whatever they want do! they’ve moved their corporations overseas, and turn their back on the middle-class Americans that many of them grew up with!

  10. You don't even have to do this full time. But you can make a decent wage while you pursue or save to persue something else. Nobody wants to be stuck working at McDonald's if they don't go to college right away.

  11. I’ve told dozens of young people, do an apprenticeship. You get paid as you learn and, later, if you want to try college you can. If it doesn’t work out you will always have that trade to fall back on.
Everyone isn’t built for iron work or boilermakers etc. but there’s always a big demand for electrical, instrumentation, etc. less physical and more knowledge based trades that pay really well.
