A newly released report from the Secret Service has revealed that Vice President Kamala Harris came perilously close to a pipe bomb at the Democratic National Committee headquarters on January 6, 2021. The 81-page report details the agency’s response to the January 6 riot and sheds light on the events surrounding Harris’s visit to the DNC headquarters.

According to the report, Harris traveled to the DNC headquarters from the Capitol shortly before noon, hours before the riot began. As she entered the building through a ramp, she came within 20 feet of a pipe bomb that had been placed outside the headquarters the night before. The bomb, which was ultimately discovered by two plainclothes U.S. Capitol Police officers, had gone unnoticed by the Secret Service canine unit that had been sent to clear the premises before Harris’s arrival.

The report notes that the Secret Service had not used all available explosive detection tactics and measures during its sweep of the DNC headquarters due to a lack of adequate policies for the president and vice president-elect. The pipe bomb was discovered 1 hour and 40 minutes after Harris’s arrival, and she was subsequently evacuated from the building by the Secret Service.

The incident has left investigators and observers puzzled, and despite an extensive investigation, no suspects have been identified. The FBI is offering a $500,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the individual responsible for placing the pipe bombs outside the DNC and Republican National Committee headquarters.

Surveillance footage shows an individual wearing baggy clothes, a hoodie, and a mask placing the bombs outside the headquarters the night before. The FBI has worked tirelessly to identify the suspect, with a dedicated team of agents, analysts, and law enforcement partners conducting interviews, reviewing evidence, and assessing tips from the public.
