FLORIDA – A woman from Florida who was pulled over on suspicion of driving under the influence ended up leading authorities on a high-speed chase down Interstate 95.

Alexandria Mason, the woman in question, led multiple law enforcement agencies on a 20-mile chase on May 29, hitting speeds of up to 90 mph, as reported by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office recently released footage of the chase, starting with a deputy approaching Mason’s pickup truck and requesting her license and registration.

“What’s going on?” Mason asked.

The deputy informed her that she had an outstanding warrant in Citrus County for failing to appear in court on drug-related charges, including possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, according to WJXT-TV.

“You’re not allowed to stop me,” Mason claimed, and proceeded to drive off.

Deputies immediately began pursuing Mason on Interstate 95 going north, and were later joined by the Florida Highway Patrol, according to WJXT.

The troopers managed to execute a PIT maneuver, causing Mason to lose control and collide with a Hyundai Santa Fe, resulting in damage to both vehicles and two Highway Patrol cars.

No significant injuries were reported following the incident.

Authorities discovered a stolen firearm, drugs, and a controlled substance inside Mason’s truck, as per the sheriff’s office.

Mason is now facing a series of charges including reckless driving, DUI, aggravated fleeing and eluding law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a stolen firearm, according to the sheriff’s office.

She remains in custody with a court date scheduled for June 24.
