Van Jones On Trump’s VP Pick: Even Kermit the Frog Could Get GOP Support

0:00

CNN commentator Van Jones voiced his opinion on CNN’s “Situation Room” Thursday, suggesting that even someone as unconventional as Kermit the Frog could be chosen as former President Donald Trump’s running mate, and still garner massive support from Republicans.

Host Wolf Blitzer asked Jones about Trump’s potential vice presidential candidates, including those who have previously criticized him, inquiring, “What do you make of that?” Jones replied that Republicans “have no problems with this party” due to Trump’s consolidated grip. He continued, “I think he can do whatever he wants at this point, and they will still find a way to vote for him.” As a result, Jones believed, the selection process could be as unpredictable as throwing a dart, as all three groups – Evangelicals, businessmen, and grassroots supporters – have silently acquiesced to Trump’s aberrant behavior.

Jones also touched on the Evangelicals, indicating that they are willing to ignore or condone Trump’s actions rather than stand up against him.
