The Institute for the Study of War in Washington reported that Russian forces in Kharkiv have only advanced 8 kilometers from the border and their main aim is to create a buffer zone to prevent Ukrainian strikes on Russia’s neighboring region. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced a $2 billion arms deal to support Ukraine, with Western partners promising expedited deliveries of military hardware. NATO Military Committee Chair Rob Bauer urged alliance members to prioritize supporting Ukraine over meeting capability targets.
