Donald Trump’s brush with death in Butler, Pennsylvania, has done little to deter the former president from continuing his re-election bid. Despite the assassination attempt on his life, Trump remains committed to the Republican National Convention, which kicks off on Monday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The incident, which left Trump’s ear wounded, has stunned the nation and raised concerns about political violence. However, Trump’s supporters remain defiant, with one senior House member reportedly declaring that the outcome of the election has been all but sealed, with Trump set to return to the Oval Office in January.

Despite this, a senior House Democrat claimed that the campaign to oust President Joe Biden has lost steam in the wake of Trump’s attempted assassination. However, this sense of resignation is unlikely to last, as political operatives on both sides are no doubt already regrouping and plotting their next move.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has reacted to the report with dismay, voicing her concern over the growing level of political violence and aggression in American politics.
