Donald Trump, the former President, spoke at a rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, where he called on President Joe Biden to return donations allegedly received from those financing anti-Israel campus protests across the country. Trump claimed that the same people funding the protests are also supporting Biden’s campaign.
He criticized Biden for not taking a stronger stance against the protesters and vowed to deport those from other countries who bring anti-American or antisemitic ideologies to campuses. Trump also condemned Biden for withholding weapons from Israel, calling it a betrayal of an American ally.
Trump declared his support for Israel’s fight against terrorism and criticized the violence and unrest caused by Hamas attacks. He claimed that such incidents would not have occurred during his presidency.
Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano Jr. expressed concern about protests at Rutgers University in New Jersey, a state with a substantial Jewish population. He criticized schools for allowing activities that create hostility towards the Jewish community.
Recently, there has been an increase in antisemitic behavior on campuses following certain events, leading to Jewish students feeling unsafe. Multiple complaints have been filed by Jewish and Israeli organizations against schools for failing to provide a safe environment for Jewish students.
The White House was contacted for comment on the matter.
