Former President Donald Trump has cast doubt on his participation in the September 10 presidential debate against Vice President Kamala Harris, citing concerns about the impartiality of the host network, ABC News.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed his reservations about debating on ABC News, pointing to the network’s perceived bias and criticism of its anchors. He specifically referenced a recent interview with Senator Tom Cotton, which he deemed “ridiculous and biased.”

Trump questioned why Harris had turned down debates on other networks, including Fox, NBC, CBS, and CNN, and suggested that her decision to only agree to the ABC News debate was suspect. “Why did Harris turn down all those other networks?” he asked. “Stay tuned!!!”

The debate, scheduled to take place at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will be moderated by David Muir and Linsey Davis. However, Trump’s latest comments have thrown the event into uncertainty.

Trump had previously proposed three debates to Harris, including a September 4 debate on Fox News, which Harris declined. Instead, Trump will participate in a “tele-town hall” event with Sean Hannity on September 4. The September 10 debate was originally scheduled when President Joe Biden was still the Democratic nominee, and Harris agreed to participate after Biden dropped out of the race.
