Trump Takes 4-Point Lead Over Harris in Georgia, Quinnipiac Poll Finds

A new Quinnipiac poll released on Monday shows former President Donald Trump holding a significant lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in the crucial state of Georgia. The survey found Trump with 49% support, compared to Harris’s 45%, a four-point advantage that falls outside the margin of error.

The results are particularly noteworthy given Harris’s efforts to win over Georgia, a state she visited immediately after the Democratic National Convention in August. A Harris victory in Georgia would be a significant blow to Trump’s chances, as it would force him to overperform in other states to secure reelection.

According to political experts, a Trump win in Georgia, combined with victories in North Carolina and Pennsylvania, would all but guarantee his return to the White House. Conversely, a Harris win in Georgia would require Trump to exceed expectations in other battleground states.

The Quinnipiac poll, which surveyed 969 likely voters in Georgia from September 4-8, 2024, suggests that Trump’s lead is substantial, with a margin of error of ± 3.2%. The results will likely be closely watched by both campaigns as they navigate the final stretch of the election season.
