Former President Donald Trump is pushing back against President Joe Biden’s proposal for two debates this election season, arguing for four instead. The Trump campaign believes that more opportunities for the candidates to speak directly to the American people are necessary.

Trump’s team outlined the topics they hope to cover in the additional debates, focusing on issues such as inflation, border security, domestic and international chaos, and challenges on college campuses. They are calling for one debate per month from June to September, in addition to the Vice Presidential debate.

Despite the campaign’s request, Biden and Trump have agreed to only two debates before the November election. The first debate is scheduled for June 27 on CNN, and the second will take place on Sept. 10 on ABC News.

It is worth noting that Biden and Trump will not be debating under the Commission on Presidential Debates, as they feel the commission’s rules are outdated. Trump has repeatedly expressed his willingness to debate Biden at any time and in any location during this extended campaign season.
