In a recent conversation with comedian and podcaster Theo Von, former President Donald Trump shared his thoughts on Vice President Kamala Harris’s record and her campaign promises. Trump was critical of Harris, stating that she is trying to fix problems that she has been presiding over for years.
“The borders are bad, the world is blowing up,” Trump said, highlighting the challenges facing the country. He also pointed out that Harris has been in office for three and a half years and has yet to take action to address these issues. “Why don’t you fix it?” Trump asked, emphasizing that Harris has the power to make a difference.
Trump also criticized Harris for being unwilling to engage with the public, stating that she won’t talk to anyone, including the press. Von jokingly replied that Harris is welcome to come on his show, but Trump expressed skepticism that she would take him up on the offer.
The conversation also turned to more personal topics, including Trump’s late brother, Fred Trump, Jr. Von asked Trump about his brother’s struggles with addiction, and Trump shared a poignant story about his brother’s struggles. Trump credited his brother with teaching him the importance of avoiding addiction, stating that he has never had a drink or smoked a cigarette.
The conversation also touched on the U.S. healthcare system, which Von described as “horribly rigged” against the American people. Trump agreed, noting that hospitals and insurance companies often hide their prices from patients, making it difficult for them to make informed decisions about their care. Trump pointed out that he had signed an executive order requiring hospitals and insurers to publish their prices, but that the Biden administration had failed to enforce it.
Trump expressed frustration that the Biden administration had not continued his efforts to increase transparency in healthcare pricing, stating that it would have brought down the cost of care by 50-60%. Trump vowed to continue pushing for this issue, emphasizing the importance of making healthcare more affordable and accessible for all Americans.
