In a head-to-head matchup, Trump leads Biden by four percentage points, with 49 percent support to Biden’s 45 percent. Even when third-party candidates are included, Trump still maintains a five-point lead over Biden.
The survey also reveals that among voters 50 and older, Trump leads by wider margins on both ballots. Trump has more consolidated support from Republicans than Biden does from Democrats, and he also has a slight edge with Independents. In fact, Trump leads Biden by ten points among Independents in a head-to-head matchup.
Biden’s poor job approval ratings and trailing behind Trump in Pennsylvania coincide with a recent CBS News survey showing that roughly half of voters in swing states believe the economy got worse under Biden. This is a concerning trend for Biden as he tries to navigate economic challenges and improve the country’s financial outlook.
