So if they don't have good tippers they still get taxed on how much they sold in meals, drinks, etc. Most servers work below min wage because of the tips, so getting taxed on those tips hurts them. So if they have a bad night the low base wage and not a lot of tips they don't even make minimum wage. This idea of not taxing tips could help a lot of folks in that industry.
