Former President Donald Trump, speaking at a rally in Doral, Florida, has issued a challenge to President Joe Biden to participate in a debate and a golf match. Trump offered to donate $1 million to a charity of Biden’s choice if the latter were to win.
Trump claimed that he was giving Biden the opportunity to “redeem himself” after his performance at the June 27 presidential debate, which was widely panned by Democrats, donors, and voters. Trump called on Biden to “prove to everyone all over the world that he has what it takes to be president” in a one-on-one debate without moderators.
Trump also extended a challenge to Biden to participate in an 18-hole golf match, offering him a 10-stroke advantage. If Biden were to win, Trump would donate $1 million to the charity of his choice. Trump believes that Biden will decline the offer, claiming that the president is “all talk and no action.”
The golf match would be a rematch of sorts, as Trump and Biden had a brief exchange about their golf swings during the presidential debate. Trump claimed to have won two club championships, while Biden said he had lowered his golf handicap to a six during his time as vice president.
