A recent statement by President Joe Biden has sparked a swift response from the campaign of former President Donald Trump, with a call to action directed at Vice President Kamala Harris. In a press release, Karoline Leavitt, National Press Secretary for the Trump campaign, denounced Biden’s comments made during a Tuesday event in New Hampshire.

According to Leavitt, Biden’s words have exposed the true intentions of the Harris-Biden Administration. “By his own admission, President Biden has revealed a plan to politically persecute President Trump, acknowledging an inability to defeat him through fair means,” Leavitt stated. “This blatant attempt at political retribution underscores the genuine threat to democracy posed by the current Administration. We urge Vice President Harris to publicly condemn President Biden’s reprehensible remark.”

During his visit to a Democratic campaign office in New Hampshire, President Biden described a hypothetical scenario involving the replacement of civil servants and the perceived right to eliminate threats, culminating in the statement, “We gotta lock him up. Politically, lock him up.” A source close to the President later clarified that Biden did not intend to suggest literal imprisonment for Trump, according to an explanation provided to the New York Post.

This development unfolds as former President Trump faces ongoing prosecutions at both state and federal levels, which critics have labeled as partisan in nature. Notably, in May, a New York jury delivered a guilty verdict on 34 counts of first-degree falsifying business records, related to payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
