A transgender suspect, whose name and gender were legally changed in 2023, has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly shooting and killing their parents in Washington, Utah. The suspect, Bailey, was captured on Wednesday, a day after the incident.
St. George Police Department’s Officer Tiffany Mitchell announced Bailey’s arrest, warning that Bailey’s appearance could change quickly, as they were known to wear wigs and frequently change their hairstyles. According to law enforcement documents, Bailey showed no remorse for their actions and stated they would not change what they had done, adding “I would do it again. I hate them.”
The suspect’s motivation behind the crime remains unclear, but a previous report by Truth Voices highlights a similar incident in Nashville, Tennessee, where a transgender woman killed six people at a Christian school. The suspect had allegedly planned to kill their father at their parents’ home after the attack.
