Emails Suggest Dr. Fauci and Associates Conspired to Hide Gain-of-Function Research in Wuhan

Former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci has previously been accused of providing misleading information regarding COVID-19 on several occasions. Recent email revelations from his longtime associate, Dr. David Morens, a senior adviser at the National Institutes of Health, indicate a comprehensive conspiracy. This conspiracy allegedly involves the compromised Department of Health and Human Services contractor, Dr. Peter Daszak, to hide their involvement in gain-of-function research at Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.

The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic released 150 emails showing that Morens deliberately tried to hide information that could be damaging to himself, Fauci, and Daszak. Measures included deleting sensitive emails, using private email accounts for official communication, and misspelling keywords deliberately to avoid Freedom of Information Act searches.

In one of the emails, Morens stated, “I learned from our NIH FOIA lady here how to make emails disappear after I am FOIA but before the search starts so I think we’re all safe. Plus I deleted most of those earlier emails after sending them to Gmail.”

The emails hint at Fauci’s awareness and possible involvement in the cover-up, with Morens suggesting he could help Fauci evade FOIA scrutiny: “I can either send stuff to Tony on his private gmail, or hand it to him.”

Additionally, the emails reveal that Morens previously misled the committee under oath. He had claimed not to recall discussing Daszak’s grants from NIAID to the WIV with Fauci, but later admitted to providing Fauci with requested information about Daszak.

Confidential NIH information marked “For Official Use Only” was also shared by Morens with Daszak: “Please feel free to share any docs that I’ve sent to you, with Tony. Hopefully you can do that in a way that avoids FOIA, and if not possible, just show him stuff on screen share on Zoom.”

These actions appear to largely aim at concealing Daszak and Fauci’s involvement in funding gain-of-function research on coronaviruses in Wuhan. Prior FOIA requests had already revealed Fauci’s attempts to stifle inquiries into whether COVID-19 originated from the Wuhan lab.

On April 18, 2020, EcoHealth Alliance President Daszak wrote to Fauci, thanking him for publicly supporting the natural origin of COVID-19 from a bat-to-human spillover, dismissing the lab-origin theory from Wuhan Institute of Virology. Daszak later organized a letter with 27 scientists globally condemning “conspiracy theories” about the virus originating from a Chinese lab.

Due to the Chinese Communist Party’s obstruction of independent investigations into the origins of COVID-19, the definitive origin of the virus might remain unknown. However, it is imperative to ensure that taxpayer money does not fund any research collaborations with the CCP in the future, and those implicated in deception and cover-ups must be held accountable.
