Following a shooting incident at a rally, several prominent tech CEOs and billionaires from diverse political backgrounds have spoken out about the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. The unexpected show of unity in response to the incident was triggered by news of the attack on Saturday.

Social media platforms have been the primary medium for tech leaders to express their views, ranging from condemnation of violence to more nuanced political statements. This outpouring of reactions from tech industry figures stands in stark contrast to left-leaning individuals, who took to social media to wish harm on Trump.

Mark Cuban, a self-proclaimed leftist and billionaire, expressed hope for Trump’s safety and praised the Secret Service’s protective efforts.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, used the incident as an opportunity to publicly endorse Trump, stating, “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery.”

Other tech giants, such as Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg and Apple’s Tim Cook, offered more measured responses, praying for Trump’s recovery and condemning violence.

Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, commended Trump’s “tremendous grace and courage under literal fire.”

Microsoft’s Satya Nadella described the incident as “horrific,” emphasizing that “there is simply no place for any type of violence in our society.”

Google’s Sundar Pichai wished Trump a “speedy recovery” and stressed that political violence is “intolerable,” calling for unity in opposing it.

Meanwhile, some CEOs have shown varying degrees of political engagement. Salesforce’s Marc Benioff maintained a neutral stance, focusing on healing and unity. He wrote, “May his body be healed, his mind be soothed, and his soul be comforted. May he be blessed with strength and courage, and return to health soon. There is no room in our country for political violence.”

Bill Ackman, the CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, used the moment to announce his endorsement of Trump for the upcoming election, promising a longer post to explain his reasoning.
