Senator Vance Denounces Trump’s Conviction as ‘Election Interference’

Former President Donald Trump’s conviction on all 34 felony counts in a Manhattan business records trial is being criticized as “election interference” by Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH).

Vance took to X to express his outrage, stating, “This decision is a disgrace to the rule of law and our Constitution.” He accused Democrats of fabricating felonies to target Trump, with the assistance of a Soros-funded prosecutor and a Judge who donated to Biden’s campaign, alleging the entire case was rigged for this outcome.

In a media statement, Vance reiterated his stance, calling the verdict “an absolute miscarriage of justice.”

While the outcome of this trial will no doubt be subject to appeal, it’s a disgrace to our judicial system that such measures will be necessary. The partisan slant of this jury pool shows why we ought to litigate politics at the ballot box and not in the courtroom. Ultimately, I have faith that the 2024 election will be decided by the American people, not corrupt judges and prosecutors. [Emphasis added]

He emphasized the need to litigate politics at the ballot box rather than in the courtroom, expressing confidence that the American people, not corrupt judges and prosecutors, will decide the outcome of the 2024 election.

Vance further urged the Department of Justice (DOJ) to launch a federal investigation into Justice Juan Merchan, alleging that Merchan violated Trump’s First Amendment rights throughout the trial.

The verdict came on Thursday evening, with a Manhattan jury finding Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts brought by District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D), who has financial ties to billionaire George Soros. Trump has consistently denounced the case as a politically motivated witch hunt orchestrated by Democrats aiming to maintain electoral power ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
